先日投稿した論文が早くもリジェクトされた。私はジャーナルの研究領域とよくフィットしている（フィットさせて）と考えて投稿したのだが、Chief editorのお気には召さなかったようだ。参考までに（恥を忍んで）、どんな回答がきたかを載せておきましょうか。（一部、伏せ字にしてあること、了解ください。スペルミスも原文のまま）

I have just recieved your manuscript for XXX. I am afriad that I cannot consider it for publication as it is somewhat outside the scope of the journal. We would only accept a methods paper of this type if part of a special issue on XXXXXX (as we have just finalised) but cannot consider it as a stand alone paper as there is no management dimension to the paper. I suggest that you redirect the paper to a joural such as J. XXXXXXX.

I am sorry to disappoint you but we receive 3 times the papers we are able to publish and need to maintain the scope of the journal.
